I am a bioinformatics scientist with 20 years of experience in microbial genomics research, pipeline development, publication and mentorship. 

While research can be abstract at times, I have always been driven to work on projects that can serve the larger goal of helping people in some way.

This has been on the level of individual patient outcomes, regional bio-surveillance of pathogenic outbreaks, and indicators of global climate change effects.
